The Philippine government filed graft charges against the estranged cousin of President Corazon Aquino, business tycoon Eduardo Cojuangco Jr., in its attempt to recover riches amassed by ousted President Ferdinand E. Marcos and his cronies. The $2.4-billion suit alleges that Cojuangco and three other defendants acted as fronts for Marcos in acquiring stock in two companies, the Manila International Port Terminal and the Bataan Shipyard Engineering Co. Cojuangco fled the country with Marcos in February, 1986.
