Applications Open for Senior Housing
Applications will be available Sunday for a low-income senior citizens housing project that will open in December in West Los Angeles.
The Pico/Wooster Senior Citizen Housing Project, 1425 S. Wooster St., will include 36 one-bedroom apartments.
Applications, which must be returned by Aug. 16, will be distributed at Pico Robertson Storefront, 1450 S. Robertson Blvd., and the Freda Mohr Multi-Service Center, 330 N. Fairfax Ave.
To be eligible for the federally assisted housing, an individual or one partner of a couple must be at least 62 years old or handicapped. Five of the one-bedroom units are designated for the wheelchair-bound.
Income limits are $12,550 for one person and $14,350 for two people. Residents will pay about 30% of their income for rent. The balance is subsidized by the federal government through its Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The project is owned by the Los Angeles Senior Citizen Housing Corp. and operated by the Menorah Housing Foundation Management Co.
