Share

A 14-year-old youth was shot to death Thursday night in front of the apartment complex where he lived with his parents, apparently after an argument with an unidentified man, police said.

Other residents at the complex said the assailant had been seen previously in the neighborhood and may live in one of the apartments. Police were searching for the suspect.

The dead youth’s name was withheld by police.

Westminster police received several calls at 5:33 p.m. from neighbors who reported hearing shots, Lt. Bob Burnett said. When they arrived at 13751 Edward St., they found the teen-ager lying in the driveway of the two-story apartment building.

Police are looking for a man with a mustache 25-30 years old, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and wearing an orange T-shirt and a multicolored headband.
