Two Trapper Players Purchased by Dodgers

Share

The dream season rolls on. Two players with the Salt Lake City Trappers, the independent Pioneer League team that recently set an all-time baseball record for consecutive victories at 29, have been sold to the Dodgers.

Jon Beuder, an outfielder from Cal State Dominguez Hills, and Matt Huff, a first baseman-outfielder who attended Lamar University, were signed to Vero Beach, Fla., contracts by scout Ron King, who was lured to Salt Lake by the winning streak.

Vero Beach will allow Beuder and Huff to finish the season with the Trappers.

They will then be Dodger property in 1988, having realized the goal of all of the undrafted Trappers, which is to sign with one of the 26 major league teams.
