Begsy Engelberg, former general manager of the Orlando Renegades of the defunct United States Football League, apparently committed suicide through carbon monoxide poisoning, police in Oviedo, Fla., said.

Engelberg, 41, was found dead late Wednesday in his automobile in the garage of his friend, football Coach Gene McDowell of the University of Central Florida.

“Everything right now points toward suicide,” said Oviedo Police Chief Wade Hancock, adding that three or four suicide notes were found. No motive was immediately known.
