Giving Liberally
A good definition of a liberal is said to be someone who hasn’t been mugged. That must be true of Mr. Sheinbaum (“The Man Who Would Be Kingmaker,” by Ronald Brownstein, June 28). If he entered the real world (or tried walking in it) that most Americans live in, he would understand why none of his “boys,” from McGovern on down to Hart, ever got elected President, or ever will. Let Sheinbaum and the rest of the Malibu Mafia keep trying. I figure the more liberal entertainment dollars go down a rat hole, the better off we all will be.
Instead of giving it to liberal candidates that the American people don’t want, why not give it directly to the poor (thereby eliminating the unelectable middlemen)?
