A U.S. Postal Service official charged in the Wedtech Corp. scandal agreed to plead guilty to federal charges that he took $20,000 in bribes to help the contractor win $9 million in contracts. Jerrydoe E. Smith, 54, appearing in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, waived indictment on a charge of interstate transportation in aid of racketeering but did not enter a plea. “He will be pleading guilty to the information in Baltimore,” so that all the charges can be disposed of together, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Baruch Weiss.
