Members of the culinary workers union said they will use a $100,000 grant from their international organization and about $75,000 in local donations to sign up illegal alien workers eligible for amnesty. Miguel Contreras, trustee of Local 11 of the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union, said the effort is aimed at finding thousands of illegal alien culinary workers in the Los Angeles area.
