Laos will resume cooperation on the issue of U.S. servicemen missing in action, and the United States will try to respond to the Communist nation’s “humanitarian problems,” the two countries said. A statement, issued by a U.S. delegation and the Laotian government after the completion of three days of talks in Vientiane, the Laotian capital, provided no details. A similar statement was issued after talks on the MIA issue in Hanoi earlier this month between U.S. and Vietnamese officials.
