THE FCC AND FAIRNESS

Share

My concern may well be greater than Rosenberg’s.

I spent nearly 18 years as the editorial director at Channel 7 and during that time managed to amass a goodly collection of awards and commendations despite the management at the station.

In addition, I spent a lot of years as a writer and director for CBS. Trusting those guys in management whose mental synapses are activated only by cash register keys to treat a situation fairly is akin to trying to teach a duck to whistle “Dixie.”

It ain’t gonna happen.

The term journalist has become almost an epithet in many front offices . . . but only after someone explains the meaning of the word to them.
