SDSU’s Preseason Football Camp Begins Today
San Diego State will begin preseason football camp for the entire team today with morning and afternoon sessions on the football fields behind Peterson Gymnasium.
Practice times today are 9:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The sessions are open to the public. The team will remain in camp through Aug. 29 in preparation for the season opener against UCLA in the Rose Bowl Sept. 5.
Only one player failed to report, sports information director John Rosenthal said Thursday.
Rosenthal said Todd Coomes, a second-team defensive end from Salt Lake City, was married this summer and has decided not to return to school. Coomes, who is 6-feet 6-inches tall and weighs 235 pounds, joined the team last spring as a junior college transfer from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah.
