Jail Refuses Him So He Hurls Rock Through Window
Samuel Porter tried to break into jail, and succeeded, authorities say.
Porter, 45, showed up at Allegheny County Jail about 1 a.m. Wednesday and asked the desk officer to put him in a cell overnight, Officer Mike Byerly said Friday.
When the officer refused, Porter angrily demanded entry, said Warden Charles Kozakiewicz. The officer again refused and ordered Porter to leave or be arrested, he said.
Porter left the building but threw a rock through the warden’s office window, Kozakiewicz said.
A sheriff’s deputy arrested Porter for disorderly conduct. He was arraigned and was being held Friday on $150 bond.
Byerly said authorities don’t know why Porter wanted to go to jail.
