DDB Needham said it eached an agreement in principle to acquire Northern California’s largest independent advertising agency, Girvin Conrad & Girvin. The price was not disclosed. GCG, which has $37 million in annual billings and offices in Sacramento, Fremont and San Francisco, will be renamed DDB Needham Retail and become a national retail advertising agency, said Alan Pando, president of DDB Needham West and a board member of DDB Needham Worldwide. New offices are planned for Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago and, eventually, New York City.
