Israel Delays Decision on Lavi

JERUSALEM —
Israeli leaders today again delayed a decision on whether to drop Israel’s prestigious but costly Lavi fighter plane project, officials said. Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres agreed to ask the divided cabinet to decide the Lavi’s fate on Aug. 30 rather than at its meeting this Sunday, aides to Peres said.
