Strike May Disrupt Spanish Air Travel

BARCELONA, Spain —
Air traffic controllers in Barcelona announced Friday that they will stage a 24-hour strike today that could affect as many as 1,400 holiday flights through Spanish airspace.
About 140 controllers are to take part in the walkout to demand overtime pay that they say is owed from the past eight years.
Civil aviation authorities said a minimum services law will guarantee that most scheduled flights will operate, but the strike could cause delays for the estimated 1,400 flights controlled by Barcelona.
