Fans: Commissioners at Fault for L.A.’s Loss and Irwindale’s Gain

In ancient Rome, caesars built gigantic arenas, monuments to themselves, with the blood of forced labor.

Today, city officials, such as those in Irwindale, build $170-million sports complexes as monuments to themselves, with the blood money of forced taxation, fees and assessments.

By accepting this money, Al Davis and other owners of his ilk, are helping to destroy the very laissez-faire capitalist system that has made possible a phenomenon such as professional spectator sports.
