More than 200 Nazi sympathizers, some dressed in Third Reich uniforms, tried to force their way into the cemetery in Wunsiedel, West Germany, where Rudolf Hess’ family plot is located. Police drove back the protesters with clubs and dogs, and 67 people were arrested, a police spokesman said. Hess, the former deputy of Adolf Hitler who died Aug. 17, originally was to have been buried in Wunsiedel on Wednesday. But earlier this week, family members said the burial had taken place in a secret location because of fear of neo-Nazi demonstrations. Family lawyer Alfred Seidl said Wednesday that the body will be placed in the family plot once the interest in Hess quiets down.
