Dominican Republic Defeats Canada, 6-4
Wilkier Pichardo hit a two-run home run and Juan Delos Santos added a solo shot to lead Moca, Dominican Republic, to a 6-4 victory over Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Wednesday in the Little League World Series.
Trailing, 4-3, going into the bottom of the fourth, Pichardo homered and Delos Santos followed with his towering drive to give the Latin American entry the lead over the Canadian entry.
The Dominican Republic also scored three times in the second. Carlos Paulino squibbed a bases-loaded single to right to score Andres Acevedo, who had doubled. A walk to Pichardo and a wild pitch brought home the final two runs of the inning.
Moca is scheduled to play Hua Lian, Taiwan, today in the semifinals.
