A Minuteman 3 missile carrying two experimental navigational systems for the Midgetman missile was launched down the Pacific Missile Range from Vandenberg Air Force Base. An Air Force spokesman said the missile reached the Kwajalein Missile Test Range, 4,300 miles southwest of this coastal base, in 30 minutes. Experimental navigational systems on board performed no flight functions, but did record data that the Air Force will evaluate.
