A man with a shotgun was killed by Los Angeles police after he wounded three people for no apparent reason, police said. They said four officers were sent just before 1 a.m. to the 3100 block of West 8th Street, where Jerry Quezada, 37, had been shot in the back while walking. He was taken to County-USC Medical Center in critical condition. Wounded less seriously in the same neighborhood were Cirilo Gonzalez, 29, and Christo Fernandez, 31. The gunman reportedly fired three times at another pedestrian near Vermont Avenue and 9th Street but missed. Officers said they found the suspect hiding in front of his own home in the 800 block of South Kenmore Avenue and ordered him to surrender but he pointed his weapon at them. All four officers fired. He died at Good Samaritan Hospital and was identified as Julio Osuna, 23, a Guatemalan immigrant.
