Hats on!

Jennifer Jason Leigh, in autumn’s broad brims and bowlers, proves that a hat can be a most expressive prop for playing the role of sophisticate, innocent or Puck. This fall’s crop of hats is well suited for the diversity of looks that Leigh loves most. The young actress has played a teen-age virgin in “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” a spoiled daughter in “Easy Money” and a tough Texan in “The Hitcher.” She’ll next be seen as a cop in “Undercover” and as a schizophrenic in “Sister, Sister.”
