A drug charge against Phoenix Suns guard Jay Humphries was suspended and will be dismissed upon his completion of an “adult deferred prosecution program,” his lawyer said.
Humphries was charged April 16 with conspiracy to possess marijuana and/or cocaine in October and November of 1985, his rookie season, but he only admitted to the use of marijuana, attorney Bill Friedl said.
Humphries, a starter last season for the NBA team, was one of 13 people, including three current and two former Sun players, indicted last spring by a Maricopa County grand jury on drug charges.
