EIGHT MEN OUT (Black Sox). Shooting in Indianapolis and Cleveland. John Sayles directs and adapts Eliot Asinof’s book based on the 1919 Chicago “Black Sox” betting scandal. Chevy Chase stars with Madolyn Smith in this comedic tale of a Manhattan couple who relocate to the idyllic, Norman Rockwell serenity of a small New England town. INNOCENT HEROES (Cannon Films). Shooting in Yugoslavia. Based on the true story of Hannah Senesh, who (with others) parachuted into Nazi-occupied Yugoslavia to save captured Jews. SHORT CIRCUIT II (Tri-Star/Turman-Foster). Shooting in Toronto. No. 5 (that lovable collection of metal limbs and silicon chips) returns to wreak some comedic havoc in the city.
