Popular Florida Region Offers Discounts by the Book

The Kissimmee-St. Cloud area, a gateway to Walt Disney World and other sightseeing attractions in Central Florida, is offering a free coupon book with discounts to 70 hotels, motels and amusement parks.

Many of the discounts in the book, part of a Great Fall Get-A-Way program, are good until Dec. 31. Some coupons offer discounts off admissions for as many as six people in a group, a considerable advantage for families.

The attractions and amusement parks offering discounts include Cypress Gardens, Gatorland Zoo, Sea World, Spaceport U.S.A., Busch Gardens, Jungle Falls, Old Town and Water Mania.

Other places offering discounts include Boardwalk and Baseball, a sister park to Sea World that combines various rides and also shows year-round baseball games, plus batting cages; and Fort Liberty Wild West Dinner Show and Trading Post, a new attraction.

Discounts for another dining experience are available at the Medieval Times Dinner Tournament. Nighttime entertainment places offering discounts include such diversions as Little Darlin’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Palace and the Church Street Station complex.

Some discounts for the assorted accommodations are per person, but others are per room for up to four people.

Make sure you read the coupon offers carefully. There are some blackout periods over holidays, and you can’t combine these discounts with other discounts.

Ask for the discount at the time of making your reservation and have your coupon ready when you check into a hotel. Many of the properties, part of chains, have toll-free reservation numbers. Accommodations in such a program are, of course, on a space available basis. The sooner you make a reservation, the better.

Some of the places may offer extra perks, such as free stays or meals for children under a certain age, tickets on rides at amusement parks, ice cream cones for children at check-in, lower-priced gasoline, free continental breakfasts or breakfast buffets, free magic shows and separate discounts at adjacent restaurants.
