When thousands of young East Germans mobbed the Berlin Wall in June in attempts to hear pop concerts in West Berlin, East German youth leaders decided something needed to be organized for their side of the Wall. Thus it was announced by the East German news agency ADN that Bob Dylan will give an open-air concert in an East Berlin park, scheduled for Thursday. The agency said ex-Byrd Roger McGuinn and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers would join Dylan in a “peace concert” organized by the East German Young Communist organization.
