Dense-Pac Microsystems Returns to Profitability

Returning to profitability for the first time in 18 months, Dense-Pac Microsystems Inc., a Garden Grove manufacturer of electronics components, reported earnings of $128,112 in the quarter ended Aug. 29, contrasted with a loss of $30,170 for the same period last year. Revenues for the company’s fiscal second quarter rose 23% to $1.6 million from $1.3 million.

Dense-Pac reported first-half earnings of $25,890, contrasted with a loss of $322,675 for the same period in 1986. Sales for the six-month period rose 61% to $2.9 million from $1.8 million a year earlier.

James G. Turner, Dense-Pac chairman and chief executive officer, said the company’s profitability has been restored while it reorganizes under Chapter 11 of the federal Bankruptcy Code. Turner said the company expects to emerge from bankruptcy proceedings within 40 days.
