George Inouye, a Gardena building contractor, was sentenced to 180 days in jail and three years of probation after pleading no contest to receiving property stolen from the Los Angeles Unified School District. But the jail sentence for Inouye, 57, who was also ordered to pay $5,900 in restitution, was stayed until March 14 and will be suspended at that time if he receives a favorable progress report, Deputy Dist. Atty. Herbert Lapin said. Inouye was accused of adding a room to a home owned by James L. Riley, former head of the school district’s operations department, with custodial and maintenance supplies taken from the district without authorization.
