Watergate felon G. Gordon Liddy--in addition to acting and debating Timothy Leary--has turned radio pitchman. Liddy appears in TV commercials for station KBMW-FM in Washington saying, “For the past 20 years there’s been a conspiracy. A conspiracy to keep you from hearing innovative, stimulating fresh music. Music too good for radio. Now the conspiracy has ended.” It’s a chancy bit--Watergate conspirator John Ehrlichman was dropped by a California ice cream maker for similar commercials when customers didn’t think he created the proper image.
