An Eastern Airlines jetliner with wrinkles in the surface covering its fuselage characterized by the Federal Aviation Administration as “major structural damage” made two flights after the damage was discovered, the FAA said. The plane was grounded in Chicago while the FAA investigated the accident that caused the damage. An FAA spokesman in Tulsa, Okla., said the Boeing 727 made a hard landing and hit nose first instead of wheels first last week in Tulsa.
