Part of Kansas Town Damaged by Explosion

INDEPENDENCE, Kan. —
A powerful explosion Sunday destroyed a building, damaged several others and shattered windows in a five-block area of downtown Independence where crews last week worked on natural gas lines, police said.
One officer was slightly injured by flying glass, authorities said.
