Ailing Soviet dissident David Goldfarb received permission to visit family members in his homeland, and his son called it “the greatest gift” for the Jewish New Year. Alex Goldfarb, the dissident’s son, said his father got a telephone call from the Soviet Consulate, saying the elder Goldfarb, now living in New York, will be granted a visa “for a short visit” to the Soviet Union. Goldfarb, 69, who finally got out of the Soviet Union last October and was flown to this country in the personal jet of industrialist Armand Hammer, said recently that he missed his family and wanted to return to see them.
