Former Transportation Secretary Drew Lewis has been elected chairman and CEO of Union Pacific Corp., New York. Lewis will succeed William S. Cook, who will retire Oct. 1 at the company’s mandatory age of 65. Lewis, who was secretary of transportation from 1981 until 1983, has served as the company’s president and chief operating officer since last October. Union Pacific is a holding company with interests in railroads, energy, mining services and real estate development.
