Hammering Away at Downey’s View
Being a season ticket-holder since 1965 and struggling along with the Rams through an 0-12 season all the way to the Super Bowl provides me with the right to comment as a true paying fan. Fully supporting Mike Downey’s column, I accept the players’ position that this “labor” action is the only tool that was left to them.
As for watching the planned “scab-team” play in the hot Anaheim sun, the NFL owners must have slipped over the brink in trying to understand the reason a season-ticket holder supports a team. A collection of “scabs” going through the motions is not what has built the fervor of the fan. I’ve paid to watch the Rams (painful as it was Sunday) and want my money back for any game thrust upon me using a “scab-team.” A full year of preseason-type games is not a solution.
