UCSD Gives Up 1 Shot but Loses in Soccer, 1-0

UC San Diego men’s soccer team outshot Biola College, 24-1, in a nonconference college soccer game Friday night, but the one shot Biola took proved to be the difference.

Doug Jacobs scored on Biola’s only shot midway through the first half, and Biola hung on for a 1-0 victory at UCSD. Of UCSD’s 24 shots, six were on goal, but Kevin Elliot stopped all six to record the shutout. UCSD fell to 3-2-2.

In a women’s game:

UCSD 4, Occidental 0--Freshman goalkeeper Julie Freiss recorded her fifth consecutive shutout in a game at UCSD. The Tritons, ranked No. 2 in Division III, are 6-1. Felicia Faro scored two goals to lead UCSD.
