Willie Nelson, Joni Mitchell and Kris Kristofferson will perform at a benefit concert dubbed “Cowboys for Indians and Justice for Leonard Peltier” Oct. 27 at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa. Peltier is the American Indian activist convicted in the deaths of two FBI agents during a 1975 shoot-out at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Peltier, who has maintained that he did not kill the FBI agents, escaped prison but was recaptured in 1980. Tickets for the benefit go on sale today.
