The technical state of restoration Rembrandt’s “Danae,” which was vandalized in an acid attack in Moscow more than two years ago, has been completed, the newspaper Sovietskaya Rossiya reported Sunday. The painting suffered serious damage in June, 1985, when a vandal threw acid at it. “Now, even to a non-specialist it’s clear that a large part of Rembrandt’s picture has been saved and the Dutch master’s canvas will survive,” Sovietskaya Rossiya said, adding, “It’s just a question of time and skill.”
