A judge ruled today that former Democratic vice presidential candidate Geraldine A. Ferraro will be allowed to attend the influence-peddling trial of her husband, John A. Zaccaro, despite objections by prosecutors that she may be called as a witness.

But Justice John Thorp Jr. excluded testimony about certain conversations between late Queens borough President Donald Manes and a cable television executive, as well as entries from Manes’ diary.

The rulings came before the start of jury selection in the case, in which Zaccaro is accused of working with Manes in 1981 to extort a bribe from a cable television company that wanted the contract for the borough. Manes killed himself in March, 1986, as corruption cases centering on him unfolded.
