Countywide : Freeway Work to Close Some Roads at Night
Reconstruction of the interchange of the Santa Ana and Costa Mesa freeways, scheduled to begin next month, will involve closing the Costa Mesa route, California 55, late at night, a state highway official said Monday.
A project official for Caltrans told the Orange County Transportation Commission at its regular meeting that traffic will be rerouted onto surface streets between some exits because of the dismantling and reconstruction of several bridges. However, motorists will be advised well in advance through the news media, lighted message signs and extra help from the California Highway Patrol, he said.
The dates of the closures were not yet available, but the interruptions are at least several months and perhaps more than a year away, according to Caltrans officials.
