McFarlane on the Contras
McFarlane, like Supreme Court nominee Judge Robert Bork, seems to be undergoing a conversion late in life. After a lifetime of covert and sometimes questionable activities, he has suddenly come to the realization that perhaps the people of this country should have a voice in deciding the course our foreign policy should take.
If he thinks Americans are ready to throw out our long-held concepts of human rights and deny other countries the right to establish their own form of government, whether or not they subscribe to his hard-core conservative standards, he is only deceiving himself.
