POLLEN IN LOS ANGELES
Outlook for October
Trees: Most active are pine, bottlebrush and elm. Main source is Chinese elm, one of the few, but most potent, fall polinating trees.
Weeds: Major source of pollen activity through the fall months, with heavist concentrations from sage, lamb’s quarter, scale and yellow doc.
Grasses: Expect grass pollen counts to fall off dramatically in the next two months.
Molds: Molds are expected to be generally moderate until winter. These counts will increase after rain and in humid conditions. Coastal or highly irrigated areas exhibit higher counts.
Note: Fall winds can be expected to cause dramatic upsurges in pollen counts. Source: Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, Los Angeles Chapter
