The 60th edition of the Los Angeles County Fair drew 1,376,930 people, the fourth-highest attendance in its history, to the 487-acre fairgrounds in Pomona, fair officials said. The attendance for the 18-day gathering, which ended Sunday, was 14,483 greater than last year.

Sid Robinson, spokesman for the fair, said the event might have surpassed the record of 1,435,962 visitors, set in 1985, but that the hot weather kept crowds down over the weekend.
