Sacramento police sought an arsonist who burned down the home of a black man and his family and spray-painted a racial epithet and a swastika on a storage shed. Rudy and Yvonne Fox and their three children returned from a trip to find their house leveled. The house was insured, but nearly everything the family owned was lost in the blaze, which investigators said was touched off by gasoline bombs. Fox, a Bermudan who became a U.S. citizen three years ago, said he knew of no conflicts in the neighborhood. “There’s been nothing racial said to my face,” he said. “I’m married to a white woman, but nobody has ever said anything to me about that. Kids call my kids ‘nigger.’ That hurts them. I feel bad about that, but that’s just kids saying what they learn from parents.”
