Mubarak Reelected as Egyptian President

CAIRO —
Hosni Mubarak won a second six-year term as Egypt’s president by a sweeping majority of 97.12% in a national referendum, the government announced today.
Interior Minister Zaki Badr said on national television that Monday’s referendum drew a “remarkably high” 88.47% voter turnout.
