The FAA has proposed to fine Braniff International $512,000 after performing an in-depth review of Braniff’s operations under the Federal Aviation Agency’s Flight Standards National Aviation Safety Inspection Program. The violations cited were primarily for administrative deficiencies and at no time did Braniff operate aircraft while safety problems existed. Pat Foley, Braniff’s chief executive officer, said: “Public safety is Braniff’s foremost priority and we support the efforts of the FAA in fulfilling its important oversight responsibilities. Braniff has already responded to the FAA’s findings by taking corrective actions.”
