A telephoned bomb threat Wednesday delayed an International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees hearing into alleged misconduct by officers of one of its locals. Alliance spokesman Mac St. Johns said an anonymous caller told the manager at Studio City’s Sportsmen’s Lodge--location of the closed-door session--that four bombs had been placed near the hearing room. The hearing was delayed for 50 minutes, but resumed after police failed to find any explosives. As reported, business agent Allen Price and other officials of Affiliated Property Craftspersons Local 44 on Tuesday walked out of the hearing, which is looking into claims that some local officers have run their 3,600-member union in a “dictatorial” manner and committed other abuses. Price dismissed the international proceeding as a “kangaroo court.”
