Seeded Players Gain in Wheelchair Tennis
Randy Snow of Texas, the second-seeded singles player, defeated Ken Tillotson of Florida, 6-4, 6-3, Wednesday in the first round of the U.S. Open wheelchair singles tennis championships at the Racquet Club of Irvine.
Third-seeded Chip Parnelly of Diamond Bar defeated John Johnson of Florida, 6-3, 7-6, to advance also.
Top-seeded Brad Parks of San Clemente had a bye Wednesday and will play in the second round today.
