But these anti-Bork senators are in for a surprise from the silent conservative majority who will now seek to get Judge Bork confirmed by the Senate and to regain control of the Senate in 1988 elections.

Yes, those who have predicted that the judge has “no chance” of being confirmed are in for a surprise.

Indeed, these senators will be awakened by hot letters, phone calls, and votes in 1988 from the activated silent majority.
