SHOOTING AT KANSAS FROM THE HIP

Share

I do appreciate McDougal’s attempt to give an honest assessment of the filming of “Kansas” in Kansas.

Unfortunately, Kansas is still belittled by the Hollywood-type types. Matt Dillon visited all the “dingy bars,” George Litto condescendingly called Kansans “ingenuous.”

Thank God, the Midwesterners are finally wising up to the lackluster glamour of movie making. It’s not too difficult for those “ingenuous” folks, since Lawrence, Kan., has the second-highest rating of education-per-capita in the United States, Iowa City being first (USA Today survey, 1986).
