Outfielder Gary Pettis of the Angels will undergo exploratory surgery on his left hand Thursday.
The operation will be performed on a ligament of his left middle finger at the Good Samaritan hospital. Pettis’ left hand will stay in a cast for at least a month, and at least another month will be needed for rehabilitation, the club said.
