Can Hall Explain RTD’s Troubles?

Share

I noticed that John Dyer recently resigned as general manager of the RTD. Although he had been with them for only six years, he was given a pension plan which will allow him to collect more than $1,800 a month for the rest of his life.

There seems to be no end to the waste and mismanagement surrounding this public agency. What concerns me is that Long Beach City Councilwoman Jan Hall has been on the board of directors of this group for quite a few years and, in fact, its president since 1986.

Since Mrs. Hall is planning to run for mayor of our city, I sincerely feel she should be prepared to explain why the situation with the RTD has gotten progressively worse during the time she has been on its governing board.
